Blog Reader is a personal feed reader for macOS and Android. It has no servers of its own, so your data stays on your devices and in your own Google account.
What the app accesses
When you sign in with Google, Blog Reader asks for:
- Your email address, to show which account is signed in.
- Access to files it creates in your Google Drive (
drive.file). The app creates a single spreadsheet named "Blog Reader" and stores your subscriptions, read and saved articles, and settings there, so your devices stay in sync. It can't see any other file in your Drive.
Where your data goes
- The spreadsheet lives in your Google Drive, and only you can see it unless you share it.
- Your sign-in token and a cache of articles are kept on your device.
- The app downloads feeds and web pages straight from the sites you subscribe to.
- There are no analytics or ads, and no data is sent to or shared with anyone else.
Blog Reader's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Removing your data
Sign out in the app and delete the "Blog Reader" spreadsheet from your Drive. You can also revoke the app's access at any time from your Google account permissions.
